Kemet Connections is a Black, woman-owned small business rooted in one simple belief - every child deserves to see themselves in the story of human greatness.
Our supplemental materials are designed to work alongside school curriculum, giving children extra practice with the academic skills they need in the classroom. Every product aligns with Common Core Standards and draws from a wide body of rigorous, current, and credible research and expert knowledge. Educators and families bring their lived experiences to the table, and we combine those experiences with academic expectations to create a relatable and holistic approach to learning - centering Black children in ways that are affirming, accurate, and empowering.
We support core academic skills - literacy, mathematics, science, and critical thinking - through story-based instruction, interdisciplinary activities, and reflective engagement.
Our resources encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and develop the confidence to challenge incomplete narratives.
Rooted in current scientific research and evolving scholarship, our materials grow alongside new discoveries.
Our work begins with a foundational truth: Africa (given this name by European colonizers) is the birthplace of humankind, and traditional education systems have minimized, distorted, or erased many scientific and historical realities connected to Black people. Partial and inaccurate narratives quietly erode children's confidence, curiosity, and academic growth.
We believe self-esteem sits at the center of learning, essential to every question asked, every concept grasped, and every breakthrough made.
